16 March "The Golden Valley Railway Company - Fiasco or Fraud?"
The talk will cover the brief but eventful history of the Company from its founding with great expectations in 1875, through the ups and downs of the construction of the line and the increasingly imaginative schemes to finance it, to its ignominious collapse in 1899 when it took the fortunes of many of the local landed gentry with it.
